Your 4 Day journey begins with a pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital. You’ll start with a visit to the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most impressive mosques in the world. After the visit, travel inland to the imperial city of Fes. Upon arrival, enjoy a short stop at the Royal Palace Gate, next spend the evening at leisure exploring the medina or relaxing in your Riad. Overnight stay in a traditional Riad in Fes.
Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, depart Fes and drive south through Imouzzer toward the alpine town of Ifrane, often referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco” due to its European-style architecture and cool climate. Continue through the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you may encounter wild Barbary macaques. Later, stop in Midelt for lunch, before crossing the scenic Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass and the Ziz Valley, with photo stops along the way. By late afternoon, arrive in the Merzouga Sahara Desert, where you’ll ride camels across the golden dunes. Stop atop a high dune to enjoy the sunset, next continue to your luxury desert camp, blending traditional nomadic style with modern comfort. Enjoy dinner, live Berber music, and stargazing under the vast desert sky. Overnight in a luxury camp in Merzouga.
Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
After breakfast, leave the desert and visit Rissani, the former capital of the Tafilalet region and a vibrant trading center. Explore its traditional souk, especially lively on market days (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays). Continue to Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops, next drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. Arrive at the dramatic Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved towering canyons into the mountains. Take time to walk through the gorge and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, stopping at the famous “Monkey Fingers” rock formations and a scenic viewpoint over the valley. Dinner and overnight in a Riad in the Dades Valley.
